The LG G Flex and the LG Vu 3 successors are due for release in the second half of 2014.
During the LG G3 London based globally broadcast unveiling, LG executives at a briefing in Seoul, Korea are reported to have said that the company is projecting the second half of 2014 for the release of the LG G Flex 2 and the LG Vu 4.
The LG G Flex along with Samsung Galaxy Round were the first true curved screened smartphones released but they never really took off here in Australia – although Daniel loved the G Flex when he reviewed it.
I have have a play with the LG G Flex on a few occasions but the curved shape is sort of weird and off-putting. Don’t get me wrong, I like phablets but I’m not sure I could get used to using a curved smartphone. However now that we are starting to see curved televisions taking over from where 3D TV’s left off, maybe curved screen smartphones will one day be the norm and we will look back and wonder how we ever used those flat devices.
Lets hope the G Flex 2 is more successful in Australia than its predecessor was and that more people welcome the change now that some curved screens are becoming more the norm. The Vu series of phones have never been released in Australia and the 4:3 aspect ratio phones are not as widely accepted in our market, so more than likely the Vu 4, will only be available in the Korean market as was for the rest of the LG Vu line.
The details the LG G Flex and LG Vu 4 are yet to be confirmed but we will keep you posted as the leaks occur.
