alookback
It’s no secret that we here at Ausdroid love Shifty Jelly’s podcasting app Pocket Casts. The app is great, runs smooth and we eagerly await those witty changelog updates. Shifty Jelly also loves Android, releasing version 4.0 of the app on Android before the iOS version. Well, Pocket Casts for iOS updated to version 5 last year, and it’s soon going to be Androids turn, with Shifty Jelly announcing it’s coming soon on their blog.

There’s no feature list, all they say is it’s coming ‘very soon’, but they do have a feature list of features included in Pocket Casts 5.0 for iOS, so that’s probably a good indicator of some of the things you can expect. If you haven’t already purchased Pocket Casts – you should, and if you read Shifty Jelly’s blog you should also heed their advise and download Serial before season 2 begins – Adnan is innocent!!.

We’re waiting with bated breath for the release – and that changelog (pressure is on guys) – so stay tuned to the Shifty Jelly Twitter feed or Ausdroid for the latest info.

Hitting the play button from the lock screen causing the podcast to start over (losing your progress). This also happens occasionally when playing the podcast when using the button on the headphones and the widget. For the last few months it means for me, unbuttoning my shirt pocket to pull the phone out (otherwise the phone falls out when i bend over) taking my gloves off and then unlocking the… Read more »

Totally agree, this is a huge issue for me too and one I find REALLY annoying. Mostly because I have no idea where I was in the episode then takes me forever to find the spot again. Having a timestamp on the Android Wear face would be awesome — if it can be done anyway.

And if you complain to Shifty Jelly they send you some smart-arse reply. Ausdroid, we know you think the sun shines out of their proverbial, but they’re not actually all that great.
