Prior to Mobile World Congress, LG announced a new range of mid-range phones to be launched in the coming months. The phones drew upon the design language of the higher-end G series phones but were manufactured with a lower price point in mind. There were four phones announced, the LG Magna, LG Spirit, LG Leon and LG Joy. Of the four, the LG Leon has now popped up on the LG website so it looks like the handset will be coming our way shortly.
The LG Leon hasn’t been priced on the LG Australia website as yet, but the phone has a full blurb, with specs and pics to check out. The spec list for the Leon is pretty decent for a mid-range device, it comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop, it’s 4G and has that great LG G3 inspired design.

In terms of release dates, there’s nothing officially announced, nor which retailers will be stocking the handset or if it will be available as a pre-paid device with Australian carriers. We’ve checked in with LG Australia on the LG Leon and will be all over it when they have some more information to share.
Most of the specs are not too shabby for an entry level device. Except for the selfie camera, 0.3MP is quite simply useless.
Hows the G3 going?
It’s going great. A lot more usable than the POS Huawei Y320 I’d bought as a temp replacement for my LG Optimus One. LG UX3 is very usable, in comparison to LG UX2 which was on my Optus LG P713go L7 II, hopefully LG UX4 on the G4 continues the usability improvements. The most annoying aspect of the phone is what Google did when they created KitKat, removed USB MSC mode connectivity. It’s now actually faster to take the microSD out and copy the files to the card on my PC, even with all the extra physical steps needed. As… Read more »
Jenni glad you have something you like.
I would like to point out that your critique above of your phone is well put together and considered.
I enjoy your comments when they are not so overly negative.
