Asus are a pretty well known manufacturer in the Android space with two Nexus tablets and the iconic ‘Transformer’ series of tablets under their belt, but with a heavy leaning into the phone world recently they’ve been working hard to create a name for themselves and with a forum post in the companies official “Zentalk” forum they’ve taken a step towards credibility on the update front.
The post from user “Zentalk” names 5 devices that Asus intend to upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
- PadFoneS (PF500KL)
- ZenFone2 (ZE550ML/ZE551ML)
- ZenFone2 Deluxe / Special Edition (ZE551ML)
- ZenFone2 Laser (ZE500KG/ZE500KL/ZE550KL/ZE600KL/ZE601KL)
- ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
Unfortunately the post closes out with “stay tuned to ZenTalk for the latest update on rollout timing” which means that they are yet to cement their rollout timing for the upgrade and perhaps suggests, that this is an intent rather than a guarantee that if you own one of the named devices you’ll see the update.
Either way, if you’ve got one of the listed devices it will be worth keeping your eyes on the Zentalk forums.
Zenfone owners: Will you be waiting for the update anxiously, or are you happy with what you got for your money?
