We’re seeing reports this morning that Star Wars: The Force Awakens will become available for digital download on 1 April (just under a month from now). While these reports are coming out of the US, it is possible that this release date will apply to the Australian digital outlets as well, with Google’s Play Store having had a Pre-Order option available for some time now for $19.99.
The in-home trailer, which you can watch above, brings back all the memories of the film, and though not everyone enjoyed the next instalment in the long-running sci-fi franchise, I for one will be waiting to download it as soon as I can.
From what we understand, the DVDs will be available in US retailers from 5 April, including some special offers for Target, Walmart and Best Buy customers.
A quick look on some Australian retailers pages confirms the Autumn release for us is likely, so 1 April could well be for us too. Let’s see what happens.
