Laser Wi-Fi adapter
Australian-owned electronics company Laser has announced a new Wi-Fi enabled adapter for speakers which is compatible with Qualcomms wireless music

Qualcomm’s Allplay technology is a smart audio platform designed to make transferring music to speakers, soundbars, receivers, and more, with the ability to stream music to up to ten different audio zones at once. The Laser Wi-Fi adapter allows any speaker with a 3.5mm or Digital Optical Audio auxillary port to be made wireless enabled.

At just 105 grams and with a small 110x75x32mm footprint, the adapter supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n – but also has an ethernet connection for more stable network connections. The unit itself is powered by a micro-USB adapter.

The Qualcomm Allplay standard is supported by a number of software applications including streaming audio service Spotify, as well as DoubleTwist, Rhapsody, AllPlay Radio which is powered by TuneIn Radio and more. The app even supports DLNA, with BubbleUPnP able to stream music from your choice of a local source, media server or cloud service.

The LASER Wi-Fi Adaptor is available now from a number of retailers for a RRP $99.95 – but is selling currently on LaserCo.com.au for $48.99 with a shipping charge of $12.10.
