By all accounts the Google Pixel has been selling well. We have heard from one local case manufacturer that they are seeing demand for their case that matches that for the iPhone 7 when it was released. We have also had anecdotal reports of it selling out in local JB HiFi stores and we have seen it sell out on the Google Store in the US as well. Well, that all may well end up being a drop in the ocean with the Pixel set to go on sale in India tomorrow.
Google India have been pumping up the Pixel (as well as Allo) in the past few weeks, ramping up to a crescendo tomorrow when the Pixel will go on sale in India. Google have been pushing strongly into this market for quite a while as you may have read here on Ausdroid when we reported on YouTube Go recently and also have discussed how Allo is perfect for those in India. Google really wants to capture “the next billion users” and the Google Pixel is their next big step in that direction.
On a scale of one to #Pixel, how excited are you? Pixel, in stores tomorrow onwards! #madebygoogle pic.twitter.com/EfQtsA0zt4

While we will most likely never see sales figures for the Google Pixel (or the XL) a big push into India will certainly not hurt. Let’s hope it goes gangbusters and the Pixel is a big success so we see a lot more of them in the future.
