It’s not the game we want, but Nintendo has released another game onto Google Play (and the iOS app store), with Fire Emblem Heroes now available to download.
The game isn’t based on their more well known titles – seriously Nintendo, just port Mario or Zelda to mobile – but it’s got a decent fan following. Fire Emblem Heroes is a strategy RPG game, basically it’s a turn-by-turn game where you build an army using characters drawn from the wider Fire Emblem universe. You take your turn, then fight for supremacy.
The game is free, but uses Orbs to progress in your battles, you can earn them in the game, or, and this is where the monetisation of the game comes in, you can purchase them through In-App Purchase. Orb packs range in price from $2.99 – $119.99 per pack, so be warned, if you get hooked, this could get expensive.
Nintendo says they intend to keep updating the game with new characters, so if you’re a Fire Emblem Heroes fan and your favourite character isn’t there then it may well be soon. You can try it out now for free from Google Play. We’ll be over here waiting for Mario Run which launches next month.
