LG has announced that the successor to their phone with the big battery, the X Power 2 is launching around the globe.
The handset is the latest in their X line of phones, which focus on a single feature for each device. The X Power launched in Australia last September with a massive 4,100 mAh battery that came in at a competitively priced $349. The X Power 2 seems to be upping the ante with a larger 4,500mAh battery which LG says is perfect for watching videos, but the Pokemon Go fan in me says this is looking pretty good for that too.
The battery has been increased, as have other specs across the board. The X Power 2 has a 5.5″ HD (720×1280) resolution display on the front with a Mediatek processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is complemented by a microSD card slot under the hood. Camera wise, the X Power 2 comes with a 13MP shooter on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. It’s 4G capable, but LG hasn’t released any details on band support as yet.
Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said of the X Power 2:
The LG X power2 was designed to meet the demands of users who want maximum usage from their smartphones between charges and many of the advanced features found on our flagship devices,
There’s been no local announcements around the LG X Power 2, but LG says the phone is heading to the US as well as Asia, Europe, Latin America and other regions.
