Vodafone have recently opened up the floodgates for people with interest in the HTC Legend to snap it up.
As the Vodafone Store says $49 a month will get you the device for $0 upfront or $10/mo on the $29 plan.
So go on, you know you want one. That 3.2″ vivid AMOLED display & 5MP camera are waiting to be snapped up! Full specs here.

went to my local VF store today to see it… i was curious how it looked and felt in the flesh.
…they were out of stock. The guy said they received 3 and they were all sold allready
If you’re in Sydney the store at World Square said they would be getting some today, haven’t check though.
Keep in mind it’s ONLY $49 a month and $0 for the phone, if you sign up to the plan for 24 months (in other words 24 months with 50mb allowance per month). If you only want a 12 month contract it costs you $49 for the plan per month, PLUS $60 per month paying the phone off, and only 50mb of data. It is also available for $599 outright *ouch*. As for the Nexus One, we have no idea when it is coming and only get told things a few days before stock lands in store. So it could… Read more »
That’s not saying it will, but just as an example.
Anyone asking about it is told “we don’t know”. Could be 3 weeks, could be 3 months.
hmm..you work with VF?
btw HTC Legend with 12 months plan really pain…last year(before iphone 3gs release),i can get iphone 3g 16GB for $99 per month(12 months contract)..it was $49 cap + $50 for phone…and all with optus
Hey guys, quick question. For these plans what usually happens when you cancel the service before fulfilling the full contract? Pay in full the remaining months? I’m only in Australia for 10-11 months but really wanted to pick up one of these Android HTCs. Cheers!
You pay how many months you have left of the contract x the plan your on. Say your on the $49 cap with 13 months left. It would cost $6337
Cool, thanks. So basically it’s best to sign up for the 12 month and pay a bit for the phone. One more question for the 12 month plans… why would someone sign up for the $29 cap + $80 for the phone, when the 79 cap + $10 phone comes out cheaper and with more included?
Yer the 12 months would be better. and for the other question Telcos here like to trick people
be careful – carriers usually have a “too early” clause in the contract – quit before 12months are up and pay an extra $500 fee on top of the remaining money owed on the phone
Thanks, will ask in the store regarding early exit fees. I guess since I plan on keeping it for 11 months paying one extra month wouldn’t be that bad.
Still stumped on the 12-month plan prices… it seems like the more you pay the less you get (29 cap + 80 phone = $109 vs. 79 cap + 10 phone = $89).
Ordered my Legend from VF today, comes in 5 days or so 🙂
😀 tell us how you go!
I want nexus one on optus
Sadly that’s never going to happen 🙁
What about any google branded android. The reason is I want to get latest OS as soon as google release, dont want to wait for many many months, sometime you never get update.
Get the another latest ” With Google” phone and you should get update shortly after the N1
I just patiently(i am not) waiting for N1..Pray god the rumor was true
Yeah, i agree, too expensive for what is only a mid-range phone. When i heard about the price i went and got a free Quench on the Optus $19 social plan and am very happy with it. The fact that it’s only Android 1.5 doesn’t bother me since i’m new to Android anyway so i don’t know what i’m missing out on in the later versions – it does everything i need it to. When i got the Quench I mentioned that i was keen on the Legend. The Optus guy said it should be out in July but it… Read more »
The QUENCH is the ugliest phone i have seen. No effense. and Optus sh1t (annoy) me off and annoyed me. Happier with Vodafone and will be even happier when i get the Legend
I understand how much you hate the phone/optus, but can we keep language like that to a minimum where possible 😉
I quite the look of the Legend, as for performance, I’m not 100% sold.
Sorry Buzz didn’t notice i said it. The N1 would be the ultimate device for Vodafone (when/if they launch it) I am 90% sold on the Legend but would buy the N1 in a heart beat
Feel free to be annoyed, but the Quench on a $19 plan gives you 100mb of data, and excess is 10c/mb. And the phone is free.
Plus all Gmail, Facebook, MySpace and Youtube (and I think even the weather app) is piped through Motoblur and is free as long as you use their apps. So using the 100mb might be difficult, especially if you only download apps when connected to WiFi.
Ugly is in the eyes of the beholder, they all look like phones and it is hard to beat the price.
so for 40 bucks a month you get $150 of calls and no data… no thanks vodafone.
Seriously? Add a data pack.
Only 50MB of data but you can get 2GB for $19.95 if you put the data pack on 12 month contract
no on the $29 cap you get no data $5 per mb only on the $49 cap you get 50mb still crap. If you go the $29 cap and want data you end up spending at least $50 a month which is pushing it.
Crazy Johns will give you 100MB for the same price
