The excitement is mounting for the launch of the new Google Pixel phones and now Evan Blass has chimed in with a date for the launch.

According to Evan, the event is scheduled for the 5th of October. The date is exactly one year and a day after we saw the original Pixel hardware announced in San Francisco alongside Google Wi-Fi and Google Home.

For this event, the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are again expected to be the centrepiece with Evan also confirming previous rumours that the phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 processors.

While the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are expected to be the big news, a new Chromebook Pixel and Google Home Mini are also rumoured to be announced alongside.

It’s Pixel season and we’re excited.
