LG G2 (Large)

This morning, Optus has announced its exclusive carriage of LG’s G2 handset which Ausdroid reviewed last month. Available in store, online and via telephone sales today, the G2 and its fancy advanced 4G features will really enjoy Optus’ 4G network.

Optus advises that the LG G2 runs on Optus’ 4G Plus and 4G networks, meaning more coverage and more speed, and of course Optus’ fairly decent 3G network as well.

If you’d like to read more about the G2, my review is a good place to start, but the real takeout from this news is that it will run on Optus latest 4G network. When Ausdroid met with Optus earlier in the year, they were really proud of the network they were building, and now with availability in Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide, it seems that things are progressing along really well. Optus has put up a coverage checker tool to see which parts of the network you can access at a given location.

Are you keen on the G2, and especially pairing it with Optus’ new networks? Let us know your thoughts.

is this a special version of the G2 which supports “4G Plus”. If not, the nexus 5 should also support 4G Plus?

16gb or 32gb?

Gregorian

Yeah, it was on the wall at Optus. Its okay. I’m not sure it’d choose it before some of the other options.

If i was to buy this outright, would it work on telstra?

Nick Swan

Sure would, you would have to put up with the Optus bloat though

Go to mobicity if you want it outright, it’s a pretty nice phone imo.
