Google is rolling out an update to the Google Play store App for Android – updating to version 4.5.10 – which will show you better recommendations from your social circles – read Google+ – as well as advising you which apps include In-App Purchases.
The team at Android Police found the latest update and torn down the app to find the latest additions, foremost of which is the ability to see if an App you want to download includes any In-App Purchases(IAP). The warning will appear on any app that includes an IAP including those that have a one-off Pro version update as well as those that include the more costly timer or coin based etc. IAP.
The other way that Google is looking to improve the Play store is by looking at the social integration of recommendations in Google Play. In a previous update, your recommendations were tied to your Google+ profile and this has been enhanced with updates to more heavily weight recommendations from people within your Google+ circles so that they will now appear at the top of the recommendations within the App.
Following on with ratings, the star system used to initiate your rating of Content in Google Play has been improved with the stars increased in size to make it easier to see, they’ve also been colour coded to be inline with the type of content you’re reviewing – Green for Apps/Games, Blue for Books etc. and if you want to edit your existing Google Play review, the button is a little easier to see. The latest update also allows you to delete a review.
The 6.6MB update is rolling out to Android devices now, but as per usual if you want to jump on it early you can head over to Android Police where they have a variety of mirrors available for you to download it.
