It’s been a long time coming, but Panasonic Australia is finally getting on the Google bandwagon, announcing the SC-GA10 Google Assistant powered smart speaker and Chromecast enabled HC2020 Hi-Fi are coming to our shores in May.

SC-GA10

The SC-GA10 smart speaker from Panasonic was announced prior to IFA in August last year as one of the first wave of third-party speakers powered by Google Assistant.

Hardware wise the SC-GA10 speaker contains 3 speakers (8cm Dual Voice Coil Woofer x 1/2cm Soft Dome Tweeter x 2) with 40W RMS on the Tweeters. For connectivity, the speaker has Bluetooth 4.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac.

It fully supports Google Assistant, so all your usual queries you’d direct at Google Assistant will be answered including controlling your Smart Home devices, playing music, searches and more. The SC-GA10 is also a Chromecast target, allowing you to cast your music or audiobooks to the speaker.

The speaker will come in both Silver and White, and cost $379 when it launches in May.

HC2020 Chromecast HiFi

Also announced is the HC2020 Chromecast Hi-Fi which offers the full functions of a HiFi system including a CD-player, as well as a traditional radio with the addition of DAB+. It’s a wall mountable system with dual front-facing speakers with 40W RMS power.

The HC2020 is network connected with Chromecast support so you can cast your favourite music apps to the HiFi system, or add it to a multi-room Audio setup for a richer sound. The HC2020 includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity.

The HC2020 Chromecast HiFi is launching in May in Black for $449. You can check it out now on the Panasonic website.

Hmmm, the SG-GA10 looks interesting. Hopefully the reviews will be up soon and the cost too.
EDIT: looks like it has been out for a while so there should be some reviews out already.
