There’s life left in the Blackberry hardware it seems and ahead of their planned June 7th unveiling of the successor to the KEYone – imaginatively called the Key2, press shots of the phone have now shown up in the wild.
The source of the shots is of course the perenially well informed Evan Blass who has shown the phone off from almost every conceivable angle in a pair of tweets on his @EvLeaks Twitter account.

The design is reminiscent of what we’ve seen previously on the KEYone, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The hardware keyboard has been often pointed at as a ‘winning’ design point from Blackberry enthusiasts and the KEYone is definitely a great device to hold and work on.
In terms of what to expect under the hood there hasn’t been many leaks on that front, but with June 7th only a couple of days away we won’t have long to wait. The KEY2 is getting our motor running for a new Blackberry device, so stay tuned for the actual announcement.
Looks great. I said it with the KeyOne, I’ll say it again for the Key2, I would love to be able to use one of these for work where email is 90% of my mobile phone use. Unfortunately, as work is locked into iPhones, that’s not an option. For my personal use, where video and photography feature more highly, I don’t like the reduced screen real estate that you end up with due to the keyboard.
