For many people, the Android Go experience is one of the more interesting things happening with lower-end hardware in emerging markets around the world. Asus has now jumped on-board with their own phone running Android Go with the ZenFone Live (L1) launching in the US.
The Asus ZenFone Live running Android Go (Oreo Edition) will sell online at US electronics retailer Best Buy in four colour variants: Midnight Black, Space Blue, Shimmer Gold and Rose Pink for $109.99 USD.
The handset has a 5.5″ 18:9 aspect ratio (1440×720) HD resolution IPS display, that is powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset and comes with just 1GB of RAM – Android Go is designed for phones with 512MB – 1GB of RAM – and 16GB of storage (with microSD card slot). The phone has a 3,000 mAh battery and 8MP rear/5MP front-facing cameras and dual-SIM support.
While the Asus ZenFone Live runs Android Go, which means you get Android 8.1 and though Asus hasn’t spoken about updates, previous Android Go phones have been looking at 2 years of feature and security updates.
There’s no mention of whether we’ll be seeing the Asus ZenFone Live outside of the US at this stage, but we’re interested.
