Australian pro-audio company RØDE has launched the world’s first fully integrated podcast production studio. Dubbed the RØDECaster Pro, this single integrated device can mix up to five participants into a ready-to-release podcast episode in style.
RØDE promises that would-be podcasters will be able to operate within minutes of opening the box. The new product is bound to be a big hit with professional and amateur pocasters alike.
The RØDECaster Pro features 4 microphone channels (with monitors) each with adjustable leveling, as well as separate inputs for 3.5mm audio devices, Bluetooth devices (for dial-in participants!) and USB. Offering built-in call management, the RØDECaster Pro automatically cancels echo on called-in participants ensuring a production-ready recording of your show.
With 8 programmable sound-effect pads, podcast producers can program their intro and outro music, jingles, advertiser messages and more into the RØDECaster Pro to make production as seamless as possible. A high-resolution touch screen allows easy access to all controls, and EQ presets for professional recording.
The real party trick? The RØDECaster Pro operates as an external audio device over USB (with all the functionality remaining) so you can use the studio to produce live-streamed content as well as pre-recorded podcasts.
Something like this will be simply amazing for most podcast production needs, and while it may be overkill for some, it’s something we’d love to bring into the Ausdroid office to re-start our much loved (and missed) podcast show.
RØDE has announced the RØDECaster Pro will be available for sale next month, though there’s no pricing announced just yet.
