Google has announced that character alarms are now available on Assistant driven smart displays after a short stint being only available on smart speakers. Unfortunately only in selected regions (US and Canada for now) at this time and of course, that doesn’t include Australia.

Clearly targeted at children, the option brings an engaging visual and auditory stimulus to the wake up for your kids. For the parents of young kids out there if this lands in Australia the Google Support post confirms what you’ve got to look forward to:

Character Alarms bring fun and motivation to kids through alarms that feature voices and visuals from their favorite characters. Available characters include Lego City, Lego Friends, Lego Life, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hatchimals.

After stopping the alarm, you’ll get a scene on smart display or audio clip from your chosen characters.

Setting the alarm is as simple as “set a character alarm” after triggering your speaker or smart display, I’ll be checking this regularly as my daughter will love it… OK maybe I want a Ninja Turtles alarm too!
