Are you in the market for a new phone, but after something .. bigger? Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 is one such device, with a large screen and – at the moment – some significant discounts if you hunt around.
At the moment, you can bag a bargain on a new Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on eBay, with even more to be saved if you’re an eBay Plus member.
MyMobile on eBay has both Exynos 9810 and Snapdragon 845 models on sale, with pricing as below:
- Galaxy Note 9, Exynos 9810, Dual SIM, 128GB Storage – $847 (or $719.95 for eBay Plus members)
- Galaxy Note 9, Snapdragon 845, Dual SIM, 128GB Storage – $988 (or $839.80 for eBay Plus members)
Sometimes an offer might seem too good to be true, and with these listings there is a catch, albeit not a huge one – these are grey import devices (rather than Australian-sourced stock) which we understand come from Hong Kong.
What does this mean? Basically, your new Galaxy Note 9 will still work like any other Galaxy Note 9, including receiving updates, working on local carriers, etc. However, for warranty issues, you may need to refer to the retailer (MyMobile on eBay) rather than Samsung Australia directly. Grey imports can cause some hiccups for warranty coverage.
However, it’s a good deal, and one well worth checking out.

What about Samsung pay? Will it work here on a grey import?
There is no warranty statement listed in the Ad. 12 months Australian warranty implies there is some warranty but unless they can spell out how it works and guarantee it, you’d end up with a useless brick in case of a failure.
Samsung Australia won’t even look at non-Australian phones! If you value manufacturer warranty, than this is not a phone for you.
