Chris Lacy is a genuinely nice bloke so it’s such a treat to see a major announcement about one of his apps in these strange times. In a blog post, he has announced that one of his recent app releases has been acquired by Sensor Tower.
In the post Chris also explains some of his rationale behind the sale, one is of particular interest to many users:
It became apparent that selling ActionDash would have two key benefits:
- Allowing my company to streamline its development focus.
- Crucially, a sale would provide the resources needed to properly launch my brand new, long in development (and soon to be revealed!) app.
Ultimately, I decided that the best move for ActionDash, its current and future users, and my company, was to accept the acquisition offer.
The outcome for Action Dash users is that the app will continue to function, is going ad-free and has almost all features unlocked without upgrade which now only costs 99c. So there’s plenty in it for users and — you would assume — a financial benefit for Chris.
He closes his post with a heartfelt thank you to his users:
I’d like to thank each and every person who used, bought and supported ActionDash during the past 18 months. There was little more than a year between the first line of code being written and ActionDash winning a Google Play Best Everyday Essentials award — this doesn’t happen without dedicated and delighted users-come-evangelists, so again, thank you!
With the tease of a new app coming (soon we hope) that just leaves one question, what will the focus of the new app be?
Nice 🙂
