If you’ve been using Microsoft apps begrudgingly on your Android device because G Suite won’t edit them, it’s time to rejoice. The rollout of editing capabilities for Office documents is under way and it could be a big game-changer for both corporate and personal users.
In their blog post, the changes listed include the ability to edit Office files through Google Docs, Sheets and Slides but there’s more. The editing feature reduced need (if you choose to do so) for file conversion which can, in turn, affect the formatting and sharing options are also streamlined.
Once the rollout is complete, the feature will be enabled by default for all users. The rollout includes G Suite and personal users with an expected completion of the 23rd of September.
There’s plenty of users who will be very pleased to reduce the number of apps required on their mobile devices, are you one of them?
