Facebook Watch app no longer supported by Apple TV, is this a sign of things to come?

It’s not something you see often but Meta has dropped support for the popular Facebook watch app on Apple TV. The change came without warning to users with an update to the app, all perfectly normal right? That is until you notice the new logo, and a slight problem when you open the app…

While it is possible that this is an error, if that was the case it surely would have been fixed almost immediately. Suggesting that this is a conscious decision by the Meta team. Whether there is a new app coming, a more unified approach from a single app or something completely unexpected is unknown for now.
