With the release of the HTC One (M8), we’ve been waiting for information on the inevitable release of the Mini and Max versions. Now @EvLeaks has shown off the Mini – tipped previously to be called the HTC One Mini 2 – in Gunmetal Grey, Glacial Silver, and Amber Gold.

Missing, is from the picture is the distinctive secondary ‘Duo’ camera, that adorned the back of the HTC One (M8), it will instead feature a single 13MP rear camera (OIS is not mentioned) with a 5MP front-facing ‘selfie’ camera.

Further specs on the HTC One Mini 2, also supplied by @EvLeaks include a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM, a 4.5″ 720p display,16GB of on-board storage with a microSD card slot. There will be the usual Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and BlueTooth 4.0. Software wise, like the larger M8, the Mini 2 will feature Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) with Sense 6.0 and on-screen buttons.

The HTC One Mini 2 actually looks fairly decent. The 13MP camera may actually end up being a decent replacement for the Duo Camera, even without the Ufocus effects included. With all these ‘mini’ phones, the price is of course going to be the main selling point with the lower end specs, we await an official announcement with interest.

If you’re looking for a ‘smaller’ phone, will the HTC One Mini 2 capture your hard earned dollars?
