There’s another Samsung handset on the market, with Telstra adding the Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus, to its prepaid line of devices, offering the handset for $149.
The handsets is an updated version of the Galaxy Trend which launched at Dick Smith late last year, to its prepaid line of devices, offering the handset for $149. Thought it’s technically an upgrade, the Trend Plus offers only a slightly upgraded CPU along with the ‘Plus’ monniker. The Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus isn’t going to wow you spec wise, but it certainly still good value price wise. The list of specs include:
- 4″ TFT WVGA Display (480 x 800)
- 1.2Ghz CPU
- 768 MB RAM
- 4GB Memory, expandable via MicroSD
- 5MP rear Camera, VGA front facing
- WiFi: 802.11b/g/n 2.4GHz
- Connectivity:
- 2G/EDGE / GPRS (850 / 900 / 1,800 / 1,900MHZ)
- 3G/HSPA + 21 / 5.76 (850 / 1,900 / 2,100)
- Android 4.2.2
- 1500mAh Battery
- 121.5×63.1×10.57mm @118g
While lacking 4G connectivity it’s not a bad device for someone starting out on Android, or smartphones for the first time. It’s marginally cheaper than the Motorola Moto E, so with slightly lower-end specs to match the price. But, all in all it’s not a bad handset for the price.
The Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus is available from either your local Telstra store or online for $149.
