Google keeps adding value to Google Now, and with the service powering the current hotness that is Android Wear, they have great incentive to add more information to it. Apparently a new set of cards is rolling out – to users in the US at least – which show some interesting information.
The new cards are for Police Activity in the area, as well as a card to advise on an upcoming eclipse. The Police Activity card may be a US only feature, based on the way that the US law enforcement disseminates information but it’s possible it could arrive here in Australia. The Eclipse card – which unfortunately didn’t arrive in time for the recent lunar eclipse here in Australia, shows the date and time of day for the event, as well as showing appropriate links, such as how to make a pin-hole camera to safely view a solar-eclipse.
There’s no new settings showing up in Google Now here that we can see as yet, so hopefully by the time the next solar eclipse rolls around in March 2016, we’ll see these cards.
South East Queensland needs the Police Activity cards now, due to the G20.
