Google’s update Wednesday has begun again after the Christmas/New Year break and is updating a number of their apps, including Docs, Slides and Sheets for Android.
The three apps get a couple of handy new updates mainly focused on editing on mobile. Docs now has the ability to perform real-time spell-checking, Sheets now has the ability to hide rows and columns in spreadsheets and Slides now allows you to group shapes in presentations.
It looks like Google is also offering TouchID security for iOS users, perhaps looking to the future when they may introduce fingerprint scanning options natively in Android. In the meantime, you can still use Two-Factor Authentication on your Google Account.
Google is also updating their accessibility options for Docs, Slides and Sheets, with Talkback on Android able to be used for screen-reading on Android, as well as use updated screen magnification options in all three apps to zoom in for a closer look if required.
