The phone with two fronts – that’s the always-on-e-paper-screen-toting Yotaphone 2, for those of you playing at home – is now available for pre-order at Expansys. There’s a mini site for the phone, or you can go directly to the product listing to pre-order. Expansys is responsible for sales of the phone in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea.
Hot new technology doesn’t come cheap though, and the Yotaphone 2 has an asking price of $859 attached (with free delivery). On offer is the black 32GB model of the Yotaphone 2, with a free bumper case thrown in for good measure.
The Yotaphone 2 has generated quite the buzz. It’s big feature is the 4.7-inch 960×540 e-paper display on the rear of the phone which can be used to display glanceable information and (because it’s e-paper) always stays on. New emails, social media updates and more can be seen just by glancing at the back of your phone.
Otherwise, the phone’s got a pretty decent spec list – the front screen is a 5.0-inch 1080p display (442 PPI) while a 2.2Ghz Snapdragon 801 with 2GB RAM ensures you shouldn’t be left waiting for anything.
Connectivity-wise, the phone supports LTE bands 3, 7 and 20 – it should work on some of our older LTE networks, but the newer 700 Mhz 4GX / 4G+ networks will be a no-go. You should be fine on 3G networks though.
Head on over to Expansys to learn more!
Note: A previous version of this article described Expansys’ pre-order arrangement; we’ve now been advised that the phone is in stock.

Great phone. I’m ready to toss my Kindle.
They misspelled Yoda
I’m happy with what I’ve got, but when I inevitably drop this phone off a bridge or leave on the car roof and drive off, then I’ll give the Yotaphone another look. $800 is too much for me. But I kinda like the beast.
