kFC Xpress
After launching on iOS sometime ago, KFC has just released their KFC Xpress app, which allows you to access options like customising your meal to Google Play.

While the ability to customise your meal isn’t available Australia wide as yet, KFC has been rolling the new feature out to more stores across Australia and the app is just one way to find your nearest store which supports it. But even if your local store doesn’t support it there’s still a number of features in the app like exclusive offers which are only available in the app. If your store does have the capability, then there’s a bunch of features you can try out:

  • Have it your way with fully customisable meal options.
  • Decide in your own time – pre-order for you, your friends or your kids and just let us know when you arrive.
  • Remembers your orders for next time too.
  • Exclusive offers through the Tasty Rewards menu.
  • Pre-pay by credit card to skip the queue.

The app is available for devices running Android 4.0.3 and upwards, with a small 3.6MB footprint. It’s currently sitting at a 3.4 Star rating, but seems mainly due to disgruntled KFC fans not being able to access the customise options. If you’re a fan of the KFC, then head over to Google Play and grab the app.

So I have 2 options, KFC Port Adelaide, or Launceston. I live in Perth.

No stores in WA… 🙁 At least they are responding to Play Store reviews… will see what happens over the next few weeks.

Phone portrait mode only app. No landscape mode support.
Useless in Brisbane. No participating stores.

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Phone portrait mode is always flawless on smart phones. Not to bash your comment but I don’t know anyone that uses landscape for anything except pictures and YouTube.

Sean, you are missing the problem with phone portrait only.
Phone portrait only means a postage stamp UI on tablets, and having to use the tablet in an awkward manner to use the app.
Proper device scaling UI with device rotation support should be mandatory, to be allowed to list new or updated apps on Google Play.

I assumed you were only talking about phones, and not tablets as well.

You should tell that to Google Opinion Rewards!

I did make mention of the app being useless in Australia due to the lack of stores the app knows of, and the app not supporting landscape and tablet scaling, in my 1 star review for the app on Google Play.

Postage stamp UI on tablets? Full screen for me on a Nexus 7.

Jeni, logically people don’t carry their tablets around, this is an on the go style app, so when people, are out in the city they can order their meal and arrive at the nearest KFC, and it wouldn’t be practical because I’m assuming this app is also designed to main,y be used my mobile users with 3G.
