Lenovo
Mobile World Congress has seen a lot of announcements this week and Lenovo too has announced some new products with new tablets, as well as a new pocket projector, all of which should be heading down under.

There’s three tablets announced as well as the pocket projector, with two Android tablets, as well as a slate running Windows 8.1. The Android Tablets come in two sizes, the 8″ entry level Tab 2 A8, and the higher end Tab 2 A10-70.

Both tablets rock a full sound experience with Lenovo providing Dolby Atmos sound when enjoying movies. Tab 2 A10-70 has a particularly impressive multi-speaker sound bar on the rear with an interesting speaker grill running across the top of the tablet at the rear.

The Tablets are powered by 64-bit Quad-Core Mediatek processors and while the 8″ tablet runs Android Lollipop out of the box, the 10″ Tab 2 A10-70 will arrive with KitKat but update to Lollipop around June. In a new move from Lenovo, they’ve taken a leaf out of Motorola’s book and dropped the Lenovo UI, with all Lenovo Android 5.0 tablets moving towards a stock Android experience, and this includes tablets updating from KitKat to Lollipop.

The tablet specs are pretty decent with some lovely bright, vivid displays that look to be perfect for viewing media, especially when paired with the Dolby Atmos sound, and the fairly decent battery life on both tablets is also a bonus. In terms of materials, both tablets have a lovely feel to them and are relatively light weight, although the 10″ tablet is getting up there weighing in at just over 500 grams.

Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70. I’m looking for a low priced hi spec 10″ tablet and have read several very good reviews on this one but still can’t find this tablet in Australia. Any news on when it’s coming and who will have it?

Lenovo Atmos still reminds me of the The Sontaran Stratagem every time I hear about it.
