After showing off the Asus Zenpad in leaked press renders last week, Asus has unveiled a new range of Zenpad tablets, which cover the gamut of screen sizes normally available on the market. Ranging in size from 7″, Asus has also introduced two new 8″ tablets and a 10″ tablet in their ZenPad range.
The 7″ – 10″ ZenPad tablets offer choices with the Stylus on the 8″ ZenPad, while the 10″ ZenPad has an optional keyboard attachment, with Asus apparently keen to retain their Transformer market. The ZenPad offers DTS Premium Sound and comes with options for Wi-Fi, LTE/3G connectivity.
The ZenPad 8.0″ is aimed at the more fashion conscious with a stylish ’embossed-leather patterning’ on the tablet, and ergonomic rounded edges that Asus say makes the tablet easier to hold.
The jewel of the range is the Asus ZenPad S 8.0″, which is a tiny 6.6mm thin and weighs in at just 298grams. The tablet comes with a 2K QXGA (1536x 2048) IPS display and is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor and 4GB of RAM, which will go along way to helping to run the stylus driven device – that’s right, Asus is now offering a stylus for their tablet.
The Z Stylus is aimed to be a ‘natural writing’ instrument, with a high degree of accuracy. Asus has included a stylus, which gives 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity with a 1.2mm thin writing tip to really get those fine lines.
Availability of the new ZenPad range hasn’t been announced, but we’ll follow up with Asus Australia for more details tomorrow.
Need more info on this stylus but I like where they’re going with this. I prefer 16:10 tablet screens but I’ll overlook that flaw if the rest is up to snuff.
Hope price is good
That 8in tablet has potential. I’m keen to check it out.
