Samsung 2

In the past, Samsung haven’t had the best reputation for pushing out prompt updates to their devices; even quite recent devices such as the Galaxy S5 has lagged behind competitor devices in receiving an update to the latest version of the Android Operating system. But it appears that Samsung are working hard to destroy their stigma of laggy updates, with a number of recent flagships already getting the 5.1.1 Lollipop update and now it would appear the Galaxy Note 4 will be added to the list.

According to SamMobile who have some “highly placed sources”, the update to 5.1.1 for the patient amongst you who’ve waited will arrive on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by the end of July.

Great news for the Samsung faithful and in particular the Galaxy Note 4 owners among you. If you’re rocking the Note 4 with a stock ROM be sure to Tip Us when your update does drop.

Aside from updating regularly and promptly, what else do you believe Samsung can do to gain more market?

So it’s now mid August and still no 5.1.1 – you’ve done it for me, Samsung, after owning a number of prior models from the original galaxy and nexus s I won’t be buying another of your smartphones in future if this is how you’re going to run things.

So it’ll be mid 2016 before Australian telcos officially release ‘their’ version of 5.1.1. So many ‘show stoppers’ delay their release.

Aforementioned S5 is getting its lollipop today, or the Optus one at least. My housemate is downloading it now.

Would have loved for it to be end of JUNE instead πŸ˜‰ Hoping they adopt some M features into the build such as a dark theme, etc rather than waiting for M to bring these (in another year or so…)

My wife’s note 4 is running 5.0.1 from past one month, and now 5.1 is tempting…. I would actually prefer M preview rather 5.1
