The deal is listed on Ozbargain as being only available at ‘BP Regional Sites’.

Spec wise the phone is actually a ZTE T706 and comes with Android 2.3(Gingerbread). Onboard storage is minimal but there is a microSD card slot and a 2GB memory card is included in the box.

  • 2MP Camera
  • Bluetooth 3.0, FM Radio Player
  • UMTS: 850 / 2100MHz GSM: 900/1800/1900 Mhz

  • 1500mAh Battery
    • Talk Time: Up to 180 mins
    • Standby Time: Up to 200 hrs

You can check out the phone on the Boost Mobile webpage. Boost Mobile uses the Telstra 3G Mobile Network for their coverage, ensure you check out the Boost Mobile coverage map if you’re at all unsure of coverage in your area.

As it’s only available at Regional sites, I tried to grab one but the local BP had none in stock so it appears to be pretty limited availability. The crew over at Ozbargain has alphabetised the list of sites that are apparently hosting the deal, there are a fair few available, the list of BPs with the phone available is :

Not a bad deal for a basic smartphone and for $19 it’s pretty hard to go past, even if it’s just to give to the kids as a media player. If you do grab one, let us know what it’s like in the comments.

I’m thinking of grabbing one to run Music Remote Client on for my Google Music. Connect it up your amp, leave it on, use your main phone to control your music and listen through your main speakers.

I noticed that one of the locations is BP Brighton. Does this mean that Brighton residents are happy to fork out millions on homes and cars but too stingy to fork out $500-600 on a decent phone 🙂 ?

Be wary, a poster on ozbargain bought one and before even installing any apps on it, just trying to update the installed apps gave a low on space warning.
