HTC has today announced the latest in their Desire range, the Desire 626 has launched on the Telstra network.

The Desire 626 is a colourful and stylish handset that’s also received the coveted Telstra Blue Tick certification, which gives Telstra customers in regional and rural areas peace of mind that the handset will receive superior coverage. The Desire 626 is a Cat 6 LTE device which is also compatible with the Telstra 4GX network giving you access to speeds up to 100Mbps in areas with 4GX reception.

The Desire 626 is an affordable handset which is stylish and powerful says Ben Hodgson, Country Manager HTC Australia and New Zealand. ‘It is a phone that combines design with top of the range features representing unparalleled value for customers who want a best in class 4G smartphone with no compromise on quality, at an affordable price’.

The Desire 626 will be available in Blue Lagoon dual-tone colour combination on the $55 Go Mobile plan with a $2 per month handset repayment on a 24 month contract ($57/mth, Minimum cost $1,368). Telstra will also make the phone available for Business customers on the $65 Go Business Mobile Plan with no additional payments on a 24 month contract (minimum cost $1,560). Extra data for both plans can be purchased at $10 per 1GB.

The Desire 626 has a pretty decent spec list with a Qualcomm processor and beautiful 5″ FullHD screen.

    You mention ‘FullHD’ in the article, but 720p in the specs. I’m guessing it’s actually 720p?

    FullHD is usually 1080p right?

    I think it actually looks quite stylish. Not sure about the CPU though. I have a Snapdragon 410 and it’s ok but quite often I’m waiting. This phone has 512 MB more RAM than mine though so maybe that will make all the difference.
