The build up to the online launch of the HTC 10 on April 12th has been preceded in the traditional fashion by HTC teasing their new phone in short snippets. We’ve seen the camera, the design, and even capacitive buttons and now we’re looking at audio.

HTC has released a new teaser which looks at the next part of their obsession: Hi-Res Audio, which they say will bring the best Boom Sound yet.

So, yes, it will have Boom Sound, though from the looks of renders and shots of the phone in the wild, that Boom Sound won’t come in the form of front-facing speakers.

Spec wise, the rumours are pretty consistent with a 5.15″ SLCD5 (not AMOLED) display with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and a 12MP camera Ultra-Pixel based sensor. The phone will also reportedly get an update to the battery with a 3,000mAh battery on-board which will hopefully get you through a full day – and maybe we’ll see some quick charging options too.

Of course nothing is official until it’s official, and on that note, you’ll need to tune in for the launch on the 12th of April (at 10pm AEST) local time for those wanting to tune in. You can follow along and we’ll bring you all the local announcement information as soon as it’s available.

No gonna lie.. That got me a tad excited.. Quad HD isnt the complete deal breaker for me if audio and camera are right and we only have 1080p it wouldn’t be a bad thing IMO.

It will be interesting to see if HTC follows Samsung and LG and goes with a QHD screen. It seems that HTC has worked on the camera, battery and design, so I hope the phone does well (it might be the last one, otherwise!).
