Moto Z Play
While there’s still no Australian availability announcements for the Moto Z or Moto Z Force phones announced at Lenovo Tech World back in June, Lenovo has gone ahead and announced a third model in the family – the Moto Z Play.

The Moto Z Play is compatible with the full range of Moto Mods announced for the original Moto Z and Moto Z Force, including the new True Zoom Hasselblad camera Mod. It has the same glass back panel as its siblings, but a slightly more mid-range spec sheet.

The Moto Z Play is being priced at $449USD, placing it at the mid-range of devices. It has a 5.5″ FullHD 1080P display and runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of on-board storage and yes it has a microSD card slot with support for cards up to 2TB.

The Moto Z Play includes a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and laser auto focus and phase detection – it also has a 5MP selfie cam with f/2.2 aperture.

Battery is key with the Play series and with a 3510 mAh inside, Lenovo are claiming that the Moto Z Play has their ‘longest-lasting battery ever’ with up to 50 hours of use. The phone will also charge up 9 hours of use in 15 minutes with Turbo Power charging through the USB-C port.

Unlike the other Moto Z models in the range, the Moto Z Play does include a 3.5mm port so you can plug in a standard pair of earphones.

As of 7/12/16 Motorola Australia still have no idea if the moto z force will even be released in Australia. A bit disappointing.

This will probably be my next. Replacing my Moto X Force, which has been a spectacular phone for my needs.

Hope all these come down under!
