It seems there will be some new smartphones showing up at CES in just a couple of weeks, with LG today unveiling their offerings including four K-series phones and an updated Stylus series handset.

Stylus 3

The big gun here is the Stylus 3 which comes with an improved stylus that will ‘provide the feel and feedback of an actual pen when writing on the screen’. As well as a more refined stylus experience, the phone has some fairly decent specs including a 5.7″ HD display, Octa-Core (Mediatek) processor and 3GB of RAM. LG has also used a removable battery on the Stylus 3, just in case.

Full specs for the Stylus 3 include:

  • 5.7-inch HD In-cell Touch (1280 x 720 / 258ppi)
  • MT6750 1.5GHz Octa-Core
  • 3GB LPDDR3 RAM
  • 16GB eMMC ROM with microSD (up to 2TB)
  • 8MP Front-facing camera and 8MP Rear Camera
  • Wi-Fi (802.11 b, g, n) / Bluetooth 4.2 / USB 2.0
  • Stylus Pen / FM Radio / Fingerprint Scanner
  • 3,200mAh (removable) battery
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • 155.6 x 79.8 x 7.4mm @ 149g

With Android 7.0 installed, the Stylus 3 is starting out on the right foot in terms of software, but you can guarantee you’ll find the LG UX included. LG will be releasing the Stylyus 3 in Metallic Titan and Pink Gold colouring. Stay tuned for more information on pricing and availability closer to launch.

K-Series

The K-series handsets – K10, K8, K4, and K3 – are more staid in terms of bang for buck, but as budget offerings they’ll have broad appeal at the lower end of the market. While the K10 has the highest specs, it does use a Mediatek processor as opposed to the K3, K4 and K8 which all use Qualcomm processors.

In terms of software, the K10 and K8 models come with Android 7.0 installed, while the K3 and K4 models at least get Marshmallow.
