The top tier HTC device, the HTC U, known by its codename of Ocean is getting a little leaky in the lead-up to its rumoured April announcement. First a pic of the phone appeared, and now noted HTC leaker @llabtoofer has spoken out about the phone in a series of tweets.

According to the tweets, the HTC U will come in both single, and dual-SIM variants. This isn’t surprising given that HTC distribute phones all over the world, where some markets require a dual-SIM option, while other carrier units tend to be single SIM.

Also on the cards for the HTC U is an IP57 dust/waterproofing rating. The HTC U Ultra had no such IP rating, making this a small step up for the HTC U series. IP57 allows for dust protection, and immersion in up to 1m of water for up to 30 minutes.

Finally, as with the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play, HTC is also leaving out the headphone jack on the HTC U.

With these details coming to light, it seems to have soured @llabtoofer on the HTC U series, or at least the Ocean. The details are small, but where we’re currently at in smartphone specs and design, it’s the little things that count. We’ll know more about the phone if HTC unveil it, as exepected, later this month.
