As rumours of Moto’s next mid tier device the Moto X4 start to ramp up we got a good look at the rumoured specs yesterday and today we’ve been treated to our first look at the device. Leaked by Evan Blass of @evleaks we can be fairly confident that this is the Moto X4:

The overall styling of the device is unmistakably Moto with both the overall design aesthetic and that pronounced circular camera bump adorning the rear of the device both being very contemporary Moto. The Moto X4 features a curved glass front and back, with the display wrapping around the front bezels, a front mounted fingerprint sensor and the iconic Moto Batwing logo rounding out the rear.

The cameras are rumoured to include a dual rear 8MP/12MP combination and a 16MP front facing sensor, these rumours seem consistent with the leaded images depicting dual cameras about the LED flash on the back of the device.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the Moto X4 with things like NFC and connectivity specifics to be confirmed, however with the Moto G5 Plus having NFC included it’s probably a safe bet to thing the X4 will include it.

The Moto X4 is thought to be launching in Q4 2017 so we expect more leaks to spring before then. With Moto consistently hitting the right mark with the Moto G5 Plus and then the Moto Z2 Play our expectations are of a great device.

  1. “curved glass front and back”
Had me until there. Colleague dropped his S8+ and broke the back cover, $200 to fix. Also makes the device heavier than it needs to be.
