The OPPO A series of phones has been continually expanded and evolved for some time but it continues to represent value and functionality. The latest addition to that range is the OPPO A72, another device that sticks with the OPPO look and feel.
The OPPO A72 brings a 6.5-inch 1080p screen, 48MP AI Quad Camera array that opens a lot of photographic opportunities. It’s also powered by an SD665 processor and a 5000mAh battery which should be enough for even extreme users to make it through the day.
The A72 has a 90.5% screen to body ratio and Eye Care Mode which automatically adjusts the screen brightness and filters out blue light to reduce eye fatigue. The chassis features a 3D Quad-curve phone body — rounded edges — and is a mere 8.89mm thick. For Australians it is available in Aurora Purple and Twilight Black.
Camera capability
The A72 has a Quad Camera array with 48MP f/1.7 AI main camera, an Ultra Wide Angle Lens allows users to snap those scenic views easily. OPPO’s Ultra Night Mode 2.0 gives solid night time and low light photos. AI beautification continues to develop and that too has been included. The post-processing technology adjusts skin tones, smooths out wrinkles and conceals dark circles — depending on your preferences and original lighting, this can look like the subjects are wearing makeup at times.
With the included lenses, the OPPO A72 also supports 4K video with anti-shake — digital image stabilisation — which is a great starting point for video creators on the go. OPPO is also exceedingly proud of a couple of other features:
The new wide-angle video feature and 120fps slow-motion mode are the cherries on top of the video-shooting experience.
Other Features
A neat little feature for quick access to apps and data is the smart sidebar, single swipe brings up your favourite items to access. Decent storage at 128GB, 4GB RAM and Dual Stereo Speakers round out the value offering in the A72.
The OPPO A72 will go on sale as an Optus exclusive for $299 on the 9th of June. It’s yet another decent-looking entry into the entry-level segment of the market where it is getting tougher and tougher to decide which to buy or recommend. So many offer so much value for money and the OPPO A72 looks to be another of these.

Oppo is on the move, that’s for sure..I currently have the Reno Z and an older Oppo model before that.
