Mobile data availability in Australia is getting even cheaper with Australian MVNO Amaysim today announcing that their plans have received a bump in included data across the range, including offering up to 9GB of data on one plan for under $50.

The data bump, which adds between 500MB and 2GB to their range of plans will come into effect on the 31st of March. There’s a bonus too for people calling overseas with Amaysim adding unlimited standard international calls to their ten most called countries: China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, NZ, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UK and USA.

As well as the additional data and included international calls, Amaysim is also changing the renew date on their range of UNLIMITED pre-paid plans which will renew every 28 days instead of every 30 days when the new plans come into effect. The new renew date, says Amaysim, will make their plans easier for customers to perform a ‘like for like comparison between BYO prepaid plans in the market’.

The updated plans will now look like this:

amaysim’s Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Balint explained what the added value for amaysim customers is and how the plans stack up against its competitors.

The telco market is flooded with promotions and one-off offers which are anything but simple. At amaysim, what you see is what you get and what we’re offering is really compelling. It is the next step on our mission to make mobile plans amazingly simple. We’re pleased to not only be able to help remove the worries that come with choosing a mobile plan but to also give Aussies who are already with amaysim more of what they want for the same renewal price. Its also worth noting that unlike our competitors the revised plans will be available to all of our existing customers, not just the new ones.

Amaysim is still displaying their old plans on their website, but will surely update when the plans come into effect later this month. Existing customers will automatically be switched over to the new plans on March 31st.

Amaysim runs on the Optus 4G Plus network, so if you’re thinking of changing to the new plans make sure you check out the coverage map to ensure you’re covered.

Wow, existing customers will also get the new plans? That’s a good deal, considering these sorts of jumps in data inclusion usually only apply to new customers.

Good deals, a little too late for me though as I switched to Virgin with the $40 with 10GB and Unlimited calls and Text deal + rolloverdata

The new plans are really good. My daughter’s account is with Amaysim with great coverage and service. As other plans come up for renewal with Vodafone, I will move them to Amaysim thanks in part to the new plans and allowances.
