So we’ve told you a little bit about Millennius, now we can tell you that they have just launched a new look online store. The online store now includes two variations of their Android Smartphone the Apanda A60 (8GB & 16GB) as well as two Android Tablets, the Millennius SmartQ and the Millennius SmartQ 3G. I was rather vague before, but i would recommend the WITS A81E tablet. I’ve had it for a week. It runs FroYo and the App market. It runs an 800mhz Cortex A8, which makes the experience snappy, although the screen is resistive, its one of the best resistives i’ve used. Be warned, the firmware has some bugs (but so do all the other tablets, they’re just not mentioned by the salespeople 🙂 ) but WITS are releasing a new firmware every week and a half or so and there is a strong community on Slatedroid. You just cant compare, direct professional manufacturers is always best. But not the copies.
i just emailed them and got a response already.
I asked about the Q7 and V7, Q7 isnt being made anymore which means you have and old model with no updated software versions and no support from the manufacturer, the 2.2 android you say you got is not supported from them. Now that is when you buy a cheap chinese fake, dont compare with australian products.
Like I said before.. There are tonnes of fake ipads going around now if you were to compare. What would you think?

No 3G built in, suprising they must have got a custom lot done. Its possible to read pdfs on the system, but if its an image heavy pdf then you will have to wait for each page to load seperately or when ever you zoom. Think of it like this click, wait a second or two and then read. Kind of like the original Kindle with its page turns. If you can live with that then go ahead. and it doesnt have android market it has 3rd party market so you wont get all the apps that android market has.
SmartQ 7 and SmartQ V7 are different models. I spoke to the guys at Millennius before purchasing it asking how it is reading pdf files as I use it alot. How the E-reader would work and also the wifi use on it. They assured me it was good and has no issues. They also said I could use a 3g Dongle on the model that they are selling without 3G built-in. The Tablet they have is a smartQ V7 tablet, been out for quite a while now and you can usually find them for around $200US. I have the SmartQ 7 running android 2.2, but I wouldn’t recommend one of these tablets with all the ones that are coming out in the near future.
Dont expect to read a PDF on these guys either, they are awful at it. I’ve also had issues with them holding a wifi connection too but thats common of the chinese MIDs
I have a resistive touch-screen tablet running an 800mHz Cortex A8 on Android 2.2 for $200. It is heaven :).
Its not official that resistive cant use 3.0
Yeah I have used Resistive touchscreens before, owned a Palm Zire, LG Viewty and N97 but maybe on Tablets with bigger screen sizes Resistive wont be so bad…
Im sure there’s a lot more different then capacitive. Please don’t get me wrong i’m not arguing over which is better I would have just preferred a little more so it was compatible with Android 3.0 and I would Gladly pay $500 for it! GPS and Cell radios aren’t that important to me.

Yes it may of pointed out that capacitive is a better experience while using your finger, but it isnt that bad. Have you ever tried resitive touchscreens? I have and I really dont mind, maybe I have a heavy finger. It also pointed out that Lg, motorola, sony etc are also using resistive touchscreens on their mobile phones. So if big companies are using it as well to cut cost for customers to be able to own one. Then why not? I mean $299 compared to tablets out there for $700 – $1000 just becuase it has a capacitive touch?… Read more »

Not sure why the “sheep” want capacitive but I want to be as future proofed as I can and even from that article you showed us it says “capacitive touchscreens usually provide a more pleasant user experience”. I Have A Galaxy S and LOVE the Experience.

and resistive is not that bad as people think. everyone is just sheep and dont even know why they need capacitive.

FWIW, the ex has a resistive Samsung “something” and it’s a royal pita to use. Gimme capacitive any day.

Actually, I lied. Not 9 times out of 10 but a lot of the time.
When you review them can you also ask Millennius why tablet makers insist on tiny amounts of Ram? The Tablet for $299 is almost perfect but the tiny amount of ram is crippling the experience that is Android!! NM. Just notice it uses a stylus. 9 times out of 10 = Resistive.
I would suspect it would be to cut costs, which is the same reason they use resistive displays
that tablet is uber cheap
