When you hear words like ‘DreamBook’ and ‘ePad’ in a device name you’d think of cheap and nasty eBay imports, well Pioneer want to end the cheap and nasty craze with their new lineup of Android tablets which actually look pretty nice. The DreamBook ePad H10 HD, that’s a mouthful, is the high-end of these new devices and will set you back $699. It’s powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core CPU, has a 10.1″ LCD 10-point Multitouch display, runs Android 3.0 ‘Honeycomb’ and will come in 16GB, 32GB & 64GB variants. A full list of specs can be found after the break, and they’re very impressive, much like the XOOM and Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Pioneer is hoping to ship these bad boys out from the middle of April, but that’s only a rough estimate at the moment. We can’t yet vouch for the quality of the device, but we have approached Pioneer for a review model before we suggest you dive in.

  • 10.1″ 1280×800 LCD Display (10-point MT)
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core CPU @ 1GHz
  • Android 3.0 – Honeycomb
  • 1GB DDR2 RAM
  • 16/32/64GB Variants
  • 5MP Rear-facing Camera
  • 2MP Front-facing Camera
  • 3G – 2100/1900/850 HSPA
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, GPS
  • Stereo Speakers, Mic
  • Gyroscope

did u see the DreamBook ePad 7 Pro, 8, 10? for the price they seem like the best (mainly 7 pro) android tabs (might change by the time they are released)

They look quite good, don’t they 🙂

when i emailed u i was hoping u would look at them all. the 7 pro seems the most interesting. muti touch dual core for $200 beats Millennius and ebay tabs. downside 256 ram. whats with P10 3D ui? N7 is water proof!

We’re waiting to hear from Pioneer about availability details and such before jumping in on all of them 🙂

i am agreeing that the price is going to hold it back- i have heard of Pioneer, but why would joe public buy this when they can get an ipad2 for about same price.
I would import a Xoom WAY before buying this ..and the wifi zoom is apparently going to be cheaper! if you need 3g- 1 word for you- tetherthruyourandroidphone!

That’s a very good point. Brands that aren’t well known need to lower pricing, or do something, so that they’re recognised. Charging more than the well known competitors isn’t going to do your product justice.

I see no mention of GPS? It would be a deal breaker for me if I cant use Maps properly.
Does anyone know if it has GPS and it was just not mentioned?

    Buzz Moody

    “Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, *GPS*”

    It’s there 🙂

Specs looks pretty impressive but (a minor quibble) not a fan of the thick border surrounding the screen. It makes it looks a little retro without the appeal.

    Phat bezel is phat.

$700 ? No thanks. I’ll pay a little more for a Galaxy Tab II or XOOM

with 32GB on board and 3G build in Plus delivery is over $900, iPad2 the way to go!

    Joey

    700 dollars for the 64gb?

    Buzz Moody

“32GB SSD Solid State Disk SATA Card [+$99]
64GB SSD Solid State Disk SATA Card [+$249]”

Not sure if that’s correct yet or not.

    700 dollars for the 64gb?

    Shame it doesn’t have 900MHz.

Also, can any of these new tablets be used as a phone (with a Bluetooth headset). I really don’t want to carry 2 devices.
