During its latest earnings call, Motorola announced that they had shipping 440,000 XOOM tablets during Q2 of this year. For comparisons sake, the iPad shipped 9.3 million units in the same quarter — proof that Android tablets just aren’t at the level of the iPad, yet. As I’ve said many times before, we’re yet to see an Android tablet that can really hold its own against the iPad 2. The closest we’ve seen so far hardware wise is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Maybe Motorola might have a better shot at the tablet market with their XOOM 2.
