Sony Ericsson’s new Xperia Ray is now available for purchase on a 24 month plan from Vodafone. The device finds itself sitting on Vodafone’s $45/mo Infinite Plan with $5/mo repayments. In terms of specs, Matty says it feels like a smaller version of the Xperia Arc, which to me sounds absolutely epic. So what are the specs exactly? They go a little something like this..

  • 3.3-inch 854×480 (that’s 297ppi!) Reality Display w/ Sony Mobile BRAVIA® Engine
  • Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’
  • 8.1MP Rear Camera (shoots 720p) / Front Camera
  • 850 / 2100MHz 3G — Vodafone’s new network and Telstra NextG
  • 512MB RAM
  • 1GHz Single-Core Qualcomm MSM8255 CPU, Adreno 205 GPU
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, Micro-USB
  • Sony Ericsson xLoud and TrackID
  • 9.4mm thick

Matt’s review should be up tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that — I’ve heard it’s a pretty positive one. Check out the source link for Vodafone’s plans or hit the break for a video of the Xperia Ray.

I dont want to carry a huge phone in my pocket. So I went out and got the Ray. Im happy with it and its size.

I do not think it’s properly priced. It’s the same price as a top end android phone like sensation or galaxy II

It’s a fantastic phone and I reckon it will do well in the market. My only gripe with it is that 3.3 inches screen is too small for my liking but I’m sure that other people won’t have a problem with it.
