Samsung and Vodafone today have launched a Pop Up Shop in Sydney that will offer customers hands on play with their Galaxy range of devices as well as the ability to sign up for a plan that will suit you.
Samsung are also providing free coffee at this location with a dedicated barista between 10:30AM-2:30PM… but the sweetest part of this story is that everyday the 1st 10 Samsung Galaxy SII’s will be sold for $2.00, that’s right just two bucks.
Excerpt from Terms & Conditions:
To be eligible, individuals must be one of the first ten (10) customers to line up
at the designated position, marked by a sign, at the front of the Samsung
GALAXY S II Pop Up Shop located at 379-381 George Street, Sydney, NSW
2000 (“Pop Up Shop”) on each day of the Promotional Period (“Eligible
Customer”).
Other than some more mumbo jumbo in the terms & conditions, it’s all pretty straight forward.

Bad news guys, I got there a few mins past midnight and there’s allready 31 people in line (yes they are going to stay in line for 3 days!!!). Such dissapointment :(. Atleast on the way back we got over the dissappointment with some maccas and looking forward to the nexus prime. I think we’ll live with our sgs and nexus s

I think the first person to arrive will rock up there with 9 mates and then from tomorrow on wards you will have waiting for hours.
So if you value your time at about $100 per hour then even reading a book for 8 hours in line is pretty easy money….

One question. Do you have to sign up with vodafone or can you BYO your own plan to be elegible for the $2 phone ?
According the to Terms and Conditions, it says the promotion is the headset only. So its pretty much unlocked.
Yep there’s queue – was there yesterday from 5PM in the afternoon.
Not worth my time to wait for 12+ hours in a queue, the phone can be had for a little under $500 anyway.
Great marketing ploy by Samsung though 🙂 The shop is literally 2 – 3 doors down from the Apple store.
