HTC may have appeared to skip the low-end market during its release of the HTC One series at Mobile World Congress, however, it seems they have a low-end phone up sleeves for release late in the second quarter. The device is going by the codename ‘Golf’ and is sure to come with a compelling price given its specs that were taken from EXIF data from a test photo.

  • 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480) Display
  • <1GHz Single-Core CPU
  • 512MB RAM, 4GB Internal (+microSD)
  • 7.2Mbps HSPA
  • 3MP Rear Camera

Overall it has very similar specs to that of the HTC Explorer which Vodafone sell outright for $116. If you’re a power-user, completely disregard this phone. It’s certainly going to be launched in emerging markets in Asia at a low price and perhaps as a prepaid device on carriers here.
