Telstra is now offering the LG Optimus L3 as a pre-paid phone for $99. I found the phone in the July Telstra catalogue but they don’t appear to have it on their website as yet. This is the smallest of the L Series phones that LG launched back at Mobile World Congress, we`ve seen the L7 launch on Optus for $269 and now the L3 is getting its turn. LG are spruiking the L3 as ‘Stylishly Compact’ and with the 3.2″ Screen you can see why.

LG Optimus L3 Specifications :

  • 800MHz Processor
  • 1GB RAM – 2GB Internal Storage with MicroSD Card Slot expandable to 32GB
  • 3.2″ QVGA Capacitive Screen at 320×240 resolution
  • 3.2MP Camera with auto focus
  • Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS & FM Radio
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  • 102.6 x 61.6 x 11.85mm @ 109grams
  • Li-Ion/1500mAh

No mention in the advert as to how much credit, if any, is included in the $99 price tag. With those specs the price is definitely classed as a ‘budget’ choice but if you’re in need of a cheap smart phone on the Telstra network this may not be a terrible option to go with, LG has done pretty well on the budget range Optimus One phone so if you need one, check this out.

Does Optimus L3 have the blue tick? Am after a cheapish phone that is not too complicated to use but need to be able to use in remote areas?

Daniel Tyson

No Blue Tick on the Telstra website – https://onlineshop.telstra.com.au/prepaid-mobile/115408_details , so I’d have to say no. In terms of options for Pre-Paid Blue Tick Mobiles you can choose from the Galaxy Y https://onlineshop.telstra.com.au/prepaid-mobile/115231_details for $129 has the Blue Tick and the Defy+ https://onlineshop.telstra.com.au/prepaid-mobile/115061_details for $249 has the Blue Tick as well.
