Overnight the above screen capture from the internal Car Phone Warehouse inventory system has shown up which shows two interesting entries, one for a 32GB Nexus 7 and the other for an Invisishield for the Samsung Nexus 2. Whilst it is entirely possible that these two entries could be mere placeholders in the system for devices that may or may not ever eventuate which has certainly been the case in the past in the Telstra Siebel inventory system.

The case for a 32GB Nexus 7 is pretty much a no-brainer with 32GB variants of the Kindle Fire and Nook tablet both selling for similar prices as the Nexus 7 in the US and UK. The model# displayed is certainly consistent with the Asus Nexus 7 model # being sold in Australia (1B016A). Consumers whilst loving the Nexus 7 and its price point would still like to have the option for more capacity on the budget tablet. Myself I would prefer a microSD card slot as opposed to an extra 16GB of memory on-board but different strokes.

I personally don’t read too much into the entry for the Invisishield for Samsung Nexus 2 but as this is the season for Nexus rumours, why not? At this point in time, if we are on the cusp of the announcement of a new Nexus or family of Nexus phones then accessory manufacturers should definitely have access to prototypes of the devices to ensure accessories are available as close to launch as possible. But, an entry for a case in CPW’s inventory system isn’t much to go on.

We’re all getting a little frustrated at this stage with the lack of information regarding a new Nexus phone or phones, this time last year we had a rumoured specification and model # -we actually had a couple at this time last year and we eventually got an announcement of the Galaxy Nexus almost a year ago on October 19th so we’re almost there.

One device, 5 devices? With Apple leaking like a sieve it’s pleasing to see that Google has taken the secrecy crown away from the incumbent. A 32GB Nexus 7 would also be nice, but is probably much more important in markets such as the US and UK. Either way the next month or so could be good for Nexus devices.

The ‘Samsung Nexus 2’ is just what the Nexus S model is listed as in CPW’s inventory system.

Now that explains a lot.
