Sony-Xperia-Z-front

Sony are expected to make a real splash at CES this year, but that won’t affect the Xperia Z. Why? Because it’s water-resistant (yes, I accept the terrible play on words), at least according to new leaked stills taken from a promo video for the device.

As we previously mentioned, the Xperia Z is expected to launch alongside a slightly smaller Xperia ZL. The Xperia Z will feature a 5-inch 1080p display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera, and what we hope is a huge battery.

As usual, Sony are showing off their camera as a main selling point of the device. Here’s hoping they can beat their own work that’s inside the iPhone 5. It’s hard to work out if the back is just reflective metal/plastic, or whether it’s all glass (perhaps Gorilla Glass 3?) which could be a risky move on their part.

Sony today sent out an email to subscribers informing them that something worth noticing was going to be announced in three days.. that’s during CES.. it’s very likely to be this device. We can’t wait!

Rumours say Dragontail glass back and front. Sony have used it before. Most recently the Xperia Go.
