The hype surrounding the Huawei Ascend P6 has been mounting ahead of a June 18th release date, with a picture and video about the phone being released yesterday. Today, EVLeaks has released specs on what will be inside the device as well as providing screenshots of an updated Emotion UI that the device will run.

Hardware wise, there are two sources; EVLeaks advises that the Ascend P6 will come with a 4.7″ 720p display, powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU – presumably the Huawei designed and manufactured K3V2 – and come with an 8MP BSI Rear camera with 4cm macro and 5MP Front Facing camera with face enhance all packed into a 6.18mm thin body. French site nowhereelse.fr further advises the P6 will come with 2GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 2000mAh battery.

P6 Hardware

Software wise, nowherelse.fr advises that the Ascend P6 will be running Android 4.2 with Emotion 1.6 and EVLeaks has provided screenshots of the ‘new Emotion UI’. Considering we’ve so far only had one Huawei phone – the Ascend Mate – launch in Australia running the Emotion UI it will seem like a rather quick progression for us however it has been around for some time in other markets.
Emotion UI - P6
Personal opinions regarding the look of Emotion UI are going to flare up, there are certainly some nice icon packages in some shots but overall the look is very similar to another mobile OS which was recently revamped. The Ascend P6 is gearing up to be quite the hot little handset, can’t wait to see if it will be arriving down under.
